Generations Family Care

Our Mission

Founded in 2003, Generations Family Care is a fully fledged family medicine outpatient office. As the name implies we deliver health care from before conception until the last moments in a person’s life. We offer family planning, prenatal care, obstetrics, newborn care, pediatrics, adolescent medicine, adult medicine, geriatric medicine and hospice care. We also have a well equipped procedural clinic where we perform common outpatient procedures ranging from simple wart treatments to fracture care (a full list is available on our website).

Patient care is delivered by 5 attending physicians, and approximately 15 resident physicians, RNs and MAs as our support staff. We are a training site for family medicine resident physicians, and thus our providers are on the cutting edge of new treatment protocols and evidence based medicine. As a result our patients get up-to-date medical care.  Since we have anywhere from 3- 9 providers seeing patients every day, our patients can be seen urgently on the same day as the need arises. Our reception area is warm and accommodating, accompanied by efficient receptionists.

We also have electronic medical records through EPIC. Our providers have unparalleled access to all aspects of a patient’s chart and medical history at the click of a button. We also share the patients’ charts with our patients, giving them access to selected lab results and x-ray reports for them to view at home. Patients can also access their medication lists, allergies and send messages directly to their physicians for any non urgent matters.  In the event our patients get admitted to the hospital, our providers have full privileges at both of the local hospitals and will take care of them during their inpatient stay.

We constantly are seeking new innovations to better deliver patient care. We recently started diabetes group health visits, and smoking cessation classes.  We are also in the pilot phase of telemedicine. We constantly strive to be on the forefront of Medicine and are developing a plan to become a patient centered medical home.

Our location is 1/3 of a mile away from I-675 in North Saginaw and offers unparalleled ease of access from not only Saginaw, but the surrounding areas.

Can weight loss lower high blood pressure?

Yes, definitely, not only evidence based but also personal experience. My patients, who have had bariatric surgery, usually get off BP meds since their pressure is better after losing weight.

Same thing with sugar control, joint aches and energy level.

As a teen, how does allergy medicine help control asthma?

Picture a partially clogged pipe (the clog being the end outcome of inflammation and irritation), that is how your bronchioles/bronchi are when your

Why is palliative medicine so important?
Palliative medicine has a different focus. By this it is meant that the illness is treated for control of symptoms as the goal versus the cure of the disease.
