I have been a long-time patient of Dr. Carstens, even keeping him as my primary care doctor for annual checkups after moving out of the San Diego area. Dr. Carstens takes a holistic approach to health and wellness and spends time learning about my lifestyle and other circumstances beyond just the clinical science of an illness. He has a calm and friendly bedside manner and has been great at making himself available for questions and follow-up, even outside appointments. Unfortunately, he has indicated that he will be retiring and does not have as many office hours as he used to.
