I had recurrent dislocations of my right shoulder for several years after a surfing injury. I was told by multiple doctors and PT's to just keep strengthening my arm. This was obviously not working so I met with Dr. Kassam and he did a great job of explaining my situation. He was very patient and took the time to tell me what I was looking at long-term if I kept ignoring the problem. I had gotten an MRI already and he took me through the images himself to explain what was wrong. He told me I should consider arthroscopic surgery to stabilize my shoulder and was very honest about what to expect afterward in terms of rehab and what I could gain back. It has been over a year since my surgery. I have no pain, no dislocations, and I trust my shoulder to go surfing and snowboarding again. I only wish I had seen him sooner!
