More than 20 years ago Dr. Tooma did my carpal tunnel surgery. At that time, it was customary to do one hand at a time, with several months in between. I made my living as a writer, so told him that in terms of downtime, if I couldn't use both hands, it was better for me to have one recovery period, not two. Dr. Tooma and I agreed he'd do both my hands at once--the first time he'd done this. (He is very patient-centric.) Healing was fast--I was back at my keyboard in less than three weeks--and his technique was so precise that today you have to look very carefully to even find the scars--he made the incisions along natural skin creases. BEST surgeon ever. Would recommend him 100%!
