Nowadays, one expects a surgeon to know what he is doing when he takes you under his care. A bonus is when you find a surgeon who is personable, takes his time to explain things, and doesn't minimize your fears or concerns. What struck me when I met Dr Ghiassi for the first time, was his genuine smile, firm handshake, and he made good eye contact. That's when I realized I was going to be treated like a human being and not another case.
