When I tried to get surgery years ago at Kaiser, the doctor wouldn't allow it because I clearly was not committed to real, long lasting, life changing change. I was angry, defeated, and desperate. I imagine that's what the people who reviewed Dr. Z experience has been. Unless one is ready to make a 180 in their thinking and eating patterns, another human being, doctor or not, would not willingly put another in a situation where a surgery could go wrong, be ineffective, or even deadly. Dr. Z will, however, help you recognize faulty thinking that keeps you (me) stuck in a miserable place where losing weight, and most importantly, keeping it off is impossible. Weight loss isn't just mechanics of the body. It's a healing of the mind. I'm not there yet, but he's helping me get there.
