I called about 7 therapists from the list my insurance provided and Susan was the first to reply. Unfortunately, my insurance company had incorrectly put her on their list, so she was not in my network. Instead of just saying goodbye, she offered advice about finding another therapist, let me know that some insurances reimburse a good portion of the expense after one pays out of pocket, asked what I was looking for, and offered to put a note for me on a therapist email list-serve. She was kind, warm, caring, and generous with her time. It is rare to find a person who will do this, especially when there is really nothing in it for them (so it was important to me to review her).
