I was diagnosed in 2022 with a BRVO (Branch Retina Vein Occlusion) by Dr. Ricardo Hickinson, DO while at my Optometry appointment. I wasn’t due at that time for an exam but my eyes just didn’t seem to be working together. I thought I just needed new lenses. Dr. Hickinson took an in-depth photo of both eyes and the photo revealed a broken blood vessel behind my retina. Dr. Hickinson immediately referred me to a Retina Specialist, Dr. Susan Malinowski of Retina Consultants of Michigan, Warren, MI. Dr. Malinowski has been treating my eye for 1-1/2 years. Great progress has been made to correct the problem and I was given instructions that I could now schedule an appointment with Dr. Hickinson for a new lense Rx.I have done so and the difference in my left eye sight has improved with treatments.I am very grateful and appreciative for Dr. Hickinson’s Diagnosis, Professionalism to act on necessary treatment, thoroughness and kindness.Thank You Sincerely, Peggy Varner
