At Mount Sinai/St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital Dr. Izaak runs my DBT group. She is a DBT trained clinician. Dr. Izaak is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about her patients. She often gives examples of her own life to demonstrate how she too relates to everyday stressor and issues. As everyone knows there is an uneven balance between Therapist and Patient, so by doing this Dr. Izaak makes us feel equal, and not like there is something terribly wrong with us for having a Mental Illness. I wish she could be my Individual Therapist. I met Dr. Izaak for the first time around 2007 in my group, and I never forgot her. I was so happy and relieved when I was assigned again to her group.
