Our family has found his insight, education, and resources to be invaluable. My daughter is 6 and nonverbal, and Dr. Shane has been nothing but nonjudgmental, solution-focused when addressing her very challenging behaviors, especially those related to the frustration of difficult communication. He is the only professional in the autism field who has truly made me feel heard, seen, and understood. Instead of leaving me feeling helpless, he has given me hope. That being said, if you decide to see Dr. Shane, it’s important to recognize that while his experience and knowledge are extensive, progress requires effort from parents as well. Autism is challenging, and finding the right communication strategies takes time and commitment. If one approach doesn’t work, we move on to planB. Dr. Shane operates the same way; he is fully dedicated to children like my daughter, but a team effort is essential for success. Our experience with him has been nothing short of life-changing.
