I have been having extreme problems with reaction to medication changes initiated by a neurologist. My physical and mental conditions were off the charts. When I contacted Integral Care and explained that in three days of being on a new medication approved by and initiated by neurology I was manic off the charts, hadn’t slept in 3 days and was itching with welts which I had googled and found that I should contact my doctor immediately. I left the message on voicemail on a late afternoon. His nurse Cindy called me first thing the next morning and told me to NOT take one more dose of the medication. She worked me in less than 24 hours. He listened to me in my manic state, carefully reading over the two pages of manic writing I had written at 1 am and asked probing, thorough, thoughtful questions. For the first time a doctor listened in 30 years that I had been observed as a child having grand mal seizures and petit mal seizures by a clinician 30 years ago. I had two 30 minute tests for seizures in the next 30 years and no seizures were ever found. He believed me. He started me on a new medication that is a mood stabilizer and seizure medication. That night I slept 7 1/2 hours I see him again tomorrow, I’ve had alot of drama in my life since I saw him 3 weeks ago mostly caused by a neuropsychologist and a neurologist who spent exactly 4 minutes with me, I set a timer, when I tried to tell her what happened with the medication change she literally said, and I’m not making this up, she literally said “ I don’t care “. I will be very happy to see Doctor Nuwayhid tomorrow and feel very grateful to be under his guidance and professional and very caring supervision. If you are ever lucky enough to be seen by him, know you are in the the hands of a master.
