Dr. Bhatia's Background
Physician, Best-Selling Author, Associate Professor, International Lecturer, Acupuncturist, Certified Nutritionist, Prevention/Integrative Health Expert, Mom and Wife.
Dr. Tasneem Bhatia, MD, is a board-certified physician, specializing in integrative and emergency medicine, pediatrics and prevention, with expertise in women’s health, weight-loss and nutrition. She is the author of “What Doctors Eat” and “The 21-Day Belly Fix.”
Personal health challenges in her twenties combined with a broken health care system motivated Dr. Taz to pursue an alternative definition of health and healthy living. Early in her medical practice, as a young resident, Dr. Taz began searching for answers to her own health issues. Studying various systems of medicine, she found a wealth of information not yet taught in conventional medical schools. It led her to opening her now nationally recognized practice, the Atlanta Center for Holistic and Integrative Medicine. Voted Atlanta’s Best Integrative Medicine facility (Best Self Atlanta poll), Dr. Taz designed the center to help patients navigate their journey to whole health—finding focused solutions from multiple vantage points and different systems of medicine, including integrative, functional and holistic medicine.
Dr. Taz is passionate about the profound connection and synergy between women and children’s health and their ultimate impact on the health of the entire family. Her centers are dedicated to helping patients understand his or her core health issues and develop personalized treatment plans. She continues to train her team in thinking exhaustively about each patient and expanding their options for health and healthy living.
With an established agenda of improving women and children’s health, Dr. Taz expanded her reach through media in 2003. Since then, she has served as a medical expert for CNN Headline News, a Dr. Oz Sharecare expert, columnist and contributing editor for Prevention Magazine and has been featured on numerous media outlets, including TODAY, Access Hollywood, Good Morning America, The Weather Channel, EXTRA!, Live with Kelly and Michael and the Meredith Vieira Show. She continues to have a strong media presence and desire to educate others about living a healthy life.
An associate professor in Integrative Medicine at Emory University, Dr. Taz spends time teaching residents and medical students about integrative medicine, impacting the next generation of physicians.
Dr. Taz MD is a fellow of the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine led by Dr. Andrew Weil, having completed the fellowship in 2008. A native Atlantan, she attended The Westminster Schools, Emory University, the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. After completing her residency in pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia in 2000, she received the Emily Gardner Award for Best Pediatric Resident. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for GLiMMER, an international organization led by Dr. David Katz, MD, which is dedicated to health and healthy living.
Dr. Taz has since been featured in Atlanta’s Top Docs and voted numerous times as Best Atlanta Integrative Medicine Physician. When not caring for patients, Dr. Taz MD, can be found spending time with her husband and two young children, reading, studying, practicing yoga, trying new things in the kitchen and traveling.
Health is your chemistry, your biology, your will and your spirit. There is no other “healthy.”
