Dr. Sunita Dia listened carefully to all my concerns and explained in great detail why my primary physician had referred me to see her as a new patient. She explained what my recent bloodwork revealed and didn't reveal. She went over a litany of symptoms, many of which I hadn't had before, in order to narrow down possible concerns. She used that information, along with a routine examination to give her a better idea of what to look for in the venous blood work she ordered. She thoroughly explained to me some of the possible things that could be flagged in my bloodwork, which would lead her to a better determination if a diagnosis would need to be rendered. I understand now that my previous bloodwork may have been a false positive as the Antinuclear Antibodies test was not as remarkable as it looked on paper, as it was not definitive in answering whether or not I have an autoimmune disease. Thus, additional bloodwork that she ordered was needed to rule out an autoimmune disease.
