My 31 year old son was in ICU on life support. He has advanced heart failure, but was brought in because he couldn't breath. Dr. Umar was kind, compassionate, and extremely informative. He sat down with me, and clearly explained everything - in such a way that it was like he was talking to a good friend. As he gauged my level of knowledge, he gave me more technical information. But I must say he covered the information in layman's terms very well. Without talking down to me. He answered questions thoroughly, even elaborating on them. I never felt rushed. I've never had an ICU Doc sit down with me and make me feel so comfortable, ask if I had questions, and then patiently wait while I thought. Dr. Umar managed to get 5 tests run in one day, which I've never seen before. My son was in excellent hands.
