In 1991 I was a grad student at MSU. I was all set to graduate in December and head for Vail to be a ski instructor before going to "the real world", when I had a horrible ski accident. Dr. Niergarth and his team did a pretty major tibial transposition that ruined my ski instructing that year, but has led to over 30 years of awesome skiing! I had to look him up to see where he ended up, and to say THANK YOU. I hope he reads this and learns that when any of my joints hurt from the weather it is NEVER that knee! (And I'm still skiing the steeps out west....) Thanks Doc - well done!
