In September 2023, I suffered a grand mal seizure and diagnosed with a brain injury. and referred to Dr. Simon Hanft at WMC - neurosurgeon specializing in the care of brain tumors. Imaging revealed a meningioma tumor causing compression of the underlying frontal motor cortex. Dr. Hanft met with my wife and I to explain my condition in clear and straightforward terms. He was professional and calm as to what caused my seizure and options available. We discussed risks, benefits, alternatives. Dr. Hanft recommended surgery as the best option and was confident that he could remove the tumor through surgical resection. Craniotomy surgery was performed to remove my brain tumor. The SAME DAY of the operation I was resting in ICU and then walked a little that day and the following day, I was going up and down the stairs.Dr. Hanft is a brilliant Neurosurgeon and my wife and I know him to be kind, caring, respectful, and passionate man. Call him to break down the complexity in simple terms.
