I’m 35 years old and woke up with my hearing significantly diminished on one ear with pressure and pain. I went to an urgent care and my primary care doctor. They weren’t even close to giving me the right treatment. They tried to schedule me to a different ENT 2 weeks out. I called Dr. Shasy’s office and they got me in THAT DAY! He walked in, listened to my story and my symptoms, and diagnosed me in 5 minutes. I did some testing with the audiologist which confirmed my sudden hearing loss. Dr. Shasy explained the research, shared that it was 99% chance that the nerve connecting my brain to my ear had been attacked by a virus, and gave me what he felt was the best treatment plan. Well, it worked! My hearing is back 100% with no pressure or pain in my ear. Turns out this is a time based treatment, the faster the diagnosis and treatment the higher likelihood of a positive outcome. Dr. S isn’t about the fluff, he’s about curing his patients.
