It is rare in this day and age to find a psychiatrist who is not afraid to listen to a patient and prescribe medications that work for them even though they may not be “typical.” He is very willing to think outside the box and put the needs of the patients first. Dr. Groat is kind, supportive and non judgmental. He has seen it all and is an excellent physician. He sees no need to stroke his ego by making others feel demeaned as I have sadly experienced too many times throughout my life with various psychiatrists. He is easy going, yet extremely competent, which is a perfect combination. I am very grateful to have him as my provider. I dread the day he decides to retire.
