In a world where few options exist for families with loved ones with major mental illnesses, Dr. Watson is a Godsend. His extraordinary powers of observation enable him to recognize early signs of decompensation and address it. He supports not only the client, but also the client's family, which is imperative with these illnesses. He creates and captains a team out of terrified, grieving people. At the same time, he bravely addresses the losses incumbent with these brain disorders and helps establish realistic expectations for a challenging but fulfilling future. There are rough moments in treating these disorders. With kindness and courage, he does the hard stuff, gently pushing when necessary, always there when we need him, even calling from New Zealand, fitting us in, doing what it takes to help us all stay the course, meet the challenges, and have a good life. Finally, he is honest. With medications for psychosis this is a critical attribute. He is an excellent choice.
