I have been seeing Ralph since I was about 15 (so, over a decade). What stands out to me the most is his willingness to listen to patients and respond to feedback. In this entire time, I only felt like he wasn't hearing me once, and I talked to him about it at our next meeting. He has proven since then that he took my feedback seriously and read more on the condition I was concerned about. He has also been willing to admit he needs to ask others or get more data, and I really value his commitment to lifelong learning that helps him continue to offer the best possible treatment for his patients. He is also personable and funny, which makes even the more difficult or embarrassing conversations feel not just possible, but welcomed and respected.
