Dr. Armstrong took excellent care of my 96 year old dad who had an acute intestinal obstruction that required surgery. She answered my questions prior to surgery and explained what they would do to be sure that my dad was in the best possible state to help someone his age make it through a major surgery safely. After surgery, Dr Armstrong explained exactly what she found, taking the time to draw a diagram & she gave a very through explanation of her findings. I was impressed and grateful that my dad had a surgeon who was very skilled at what she did, and who took the time to communicate thoroughly with me. I am assertive enough to ask the nurse to please text the surgeon & tell her that I would like to speak with her.... and then I waited until she had time to come by & speak with me. Surgeons are busy, so patients' families have to make themselves available, & ask questions as well, so that a physician can gage what someone does not understand about a procedure.
