In December, 2023, I had a possible medical emergency with a specialist who was not available. I went to see Dr. Shrestha, who took it upon herself to order an MRI of the suspect area for the specialist. The test showed no damage to the suspect area. However, Dr. Shrestha studied the pictures and noticed some spots in the background. She immediately referred me for an additional MRI, CT scan, and blood tests. I completed those tests just before leaving for Boston for the holidays. As soon as she got the results, she set up a virtual appointment while I was in Boston. She informed me that the test results indicated I had renal cell carcinoma, a fast growing cancer in one of my kidneys. She immediately referred me to a surgeon, which resulted in the removal of the cancerous kidney only 3 weeks later, before the cancer spread! Because of Dr. Shrestha’s concern and quick response, she literally saved my life. She is an amazing doctor and, needless to say, I recommend her highly!
