My first visit to Dr. Cordeiro was 9 years ago after I won the lottery and drew Dr. Cordeiro as my plastic reconstruction surgeon following a mastectomy to treat my newly found cancer in my right breast. Fast forward nine years to today... After an examination, Dr. Cordeiro provided me with a wide breadth of information regarding world-wide medical research findings concerning Aplastic large cell lymphoma, associated with textured breast implants used following mastectomy. Most useful to me was his findings among his own 3500 patients with textured implants, of which 300 had developed this lymphoma. My follow-up by Dr. Cordeiro over the past nine years has been meticulous, and based on his findings in his own patient population, I elected to exchange my textured implant with a smooth-surfaced one. Dr. Cordeiro was direct in providing information and compassionate in providing my treatment. I have complete confidence in the post-cancer treatment he has provided.
