Dr. van Zijl is the architect of my successful fight against prostate cancer. I became his patient in 2018. He guided me to an excellent surgeon to remove the cancerous gland. As I adjusted to life post surgery Dr. van Zijl prescribed physical therapy that resulted in immediate improvement in my quality of life. A a few months later my PSA made a slight increase. Dr. van Zijl sent me to CU’s radiation therapy center. The staff at the radiation therapy center were efficient, polite, and successful in treating me. Dr. van Zijl advise has bren my lifeline for more than 3 years. I have had several “undetectable” PSA test results for over a year. I was scared when I received my diagnosis over 3 years ago. I believe Dr. van Zijl, his colleagues and the Chesspeake Urology staff are saving lives.
