In 2009, I had hiatal hernia volvulus episode. It was an extremely dangerous situation. My doctor contacted Dr. Kiernan and set up an appointment for me with Dr. Kiernan. Dr. Kiernan is one of the very few doctors in this area who performed this kind of surgery. Dr. Kiernan and his team performed the thoracic surgery at Fairfax hospital. I stayed in the hospital for 7 days. I understand it was a complicated surgery and I recovered well. Doctor and his team visited me everyday at the hospital. No doubt, this Dr. saved my life. So far, I had no recurrence. I always think of him with gratitude. Great doctor and surgeon! I made a donation to World Vision "clean water project" in his honor. I live in Manassas, Virginia.
