Patient Reviews
Dec 12, 2023
I was a long-distance trail runner for 10 years and never had a significant injury...until my lower back and left leg had pain that didn't go away. There were times when I couldn't even walk. One year ago to this day, he performed a fusion between L3-L4. Today, I'm back to running, completely pain free thanks to Dr. Tortolani & his team.I really appreciate is his willingness to discuss my options, physical therapy or surgery for almost an hour. I had been doing physical therapy that he had recommended with slight improvement, but I wanted the surgery. I guess a good surgeon doesn't want to operate until it is a last resort. After 6 months, he saw that the bones had fused and it was safe to run again. Today was my 1 year visit. The fusion is even stronger.I'm so grateful. While he isn't too keen on my running super-long distances, he understands that a patient needs to live their life without living in fear.So grateful to have this second chance, thanks to Dr. Tortolani!
