Patient Reviews

New patient. Dr. Pope was an incredible listener and took the time to really know my medical history and experience with past medications/therapies. He even thanked me for my thoroughness, which was a first for me (I was glad to hear it!). He took my concerns seriously and asked me to clearly define my treatment goals and what he could do to help me. He was collaborative and took my past experiences with negative medication side effects seriously and tailored my treatment to accommodate my concerns. He explained medication profiles in detail and the guidelines he uses to inform some of his medical decisions in treating bipolar disorder. He also encouraged me to see a therapist who doesn’t ask me to rummage through my past trauma, but one who sees me in the present and helps me create and maintain healthful habits and thought patterns. I’ve seen several psychiatrists in my 11 years of treatment — he is the best one yet. I felt seen, heard, and understood. Great experience.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
