Dr. Mufson's Background
Michael J. Mufson, M.D., is a psychiatrist at Brigham and Women's Hospital (a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School) and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is also director of Brigham and Women's complex diagnostic clinic. He is active in teaching medical students, psychiatric residents, and fellows, and has received numerous teaching awards. His clinical areas of expertise include medical disorders with psychiatric symptoms, sleep disorders, and chronic pain syndromes. Dr. Mufson earned his bachelor's degree from CUNY-Brooklyn College and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine.
