Patient Reviews
Dec 06, 2023
I was diagnosed with stage 4 non small cell cancer in my left lung. The hospital that diagnosed me I chose to leave AMA as I wanted to find a true professional. I was referred to Dr Liptay & was seen within days. Dr Liptay & his team ran many tests and came up with a treatment plan that concluded with complete removal of my left lung. Sounds awful but this was 14 years ago. I still see him after a CT scan every year. His protocol is as wonderful as his personality. He saved me. I can never repay that. I just wish I behaved better after what happened but I’m grateful for the time he’s given me.

About Me

Care Philosophy
  • When a patient shows up in our thoracic surgery office at University Thoracic Surgeons, they're often facing the most difficult health issue of their life. I think the thing that we're blessed with is a team of committed individuals that recognize that and handle the patients with a great deal of empathy and care. And what we're able to demonstrate to them is that they found in us a partner in fighting this. Lung cancer was really thought to - and still does in some cases - carry a very grave prognosis. That said, if it's caught early enough - which we're doing much more these days - operating - often with minimally invasive techniques - allows the patients to begin with a very frightening diagnosis and come out at the other end cured.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
