Mere words are inadequate to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Zoccali for his surgical excellence and for the comprehensive spectrum of care I received before, during and after surgery. Moreover, Dr. Zoccali always made himself available throughout to answer my questions and concerns via the Patient Portal or through Teleconference. As a result of complications from a severe diverticulitis episode, in June of 2023 I required a colon resection, repair of two fistulas and curettage of ruptured abscesses all within the same surgery. I anticipated my recovery would be quite challenging, however, that was not to be my experience. Due to Dr. Zoccali’s masterful surgical ability, my surgery and recovery progressed exceptionally well and without complications. Today I am healthier, happier and in better shape than before the surgery and I owe it all to Dr. Zoccali and to the grace of God of course and to his team at NYP/Columbia University Medical Center.
