We were referred by our pediatrician to Dr. Marcelle for our autistic son's dental needs. It was his first time visiting the dentist and Dr. Marcelle was exceptional. She's smart! She and her assistant were so patient and kind with our son. To quell his anxiety, she took the time to show our son what she was going to do and offered him the chance to participate. Her office is set up so wonderfully for all children, with a Pac-man game, tons of toys etc. She even has a video monitor on the ceiling for when the child leans back into the chair to begin the appointment. I have experienced years of apathy and impatience from doctors and other providers because of our son's neurodivergence, and Dr. Marcelle was astonishingly kind and expert in her handling. I walked out of her office thinking that there was nothing 'wrong' with my child and his neurodivergence, but rather with the world who cannot be as accepting and patient as Dr. Marcelle. I plan to bring my non-autistic son to her too!
