Patient Reviews
May 24, 2024
My husband was supposed to have minimally invasive mitral valve repair. Day before surgery Dr Gerdisch stated he needed to do open heart instead. We were concerned as the doctors in Springfield stated two week hospital stay and six month rehab. But Dr Gerdisch said it was still a short hospital stay and six week rehab. He would use a smaller incision and close using a titanium plate in the chest. My husband had surgery on Friday and was released from the hospital on Monday afternoon. He was sent to cardiac ICU and was supposed to go to cardiac intermediate care unit but never made it there since it was such a quick recovery. Even the staff in the ICU were amazing as well as the anesthesiologist. This is a well oiled machine. There are no drawbacks. One other truly amazing thing about Dr Gerdisch’s care is that my husband never had any opioids, his pain was managed with extra strength acetaminophen which is bought over the counter. Thanks to Dr Gerdisch, I have my husband back.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
