How likely are you to recommend Dr. Mahdavian?
Due to a history of malignant hypothermia & long-term cognitive impairment >3 months with amnesiacs such as Ketamine & Propofol, I avoid anesthesia and sedation for most medical procedures, and opt for mind-over-matter relaxation and self-hypnosis instead. With colonoscopy & upper endoscopy procedures, i forego IV punctures, as well. Upon consulting with Dr. M, he was very gracious in accommodating my preferences, although he had reservations. The procedure took place without incident, and afterward, he informed me that I was his first upper endoscopy unsedated. It could not have possibly gone any more comfortably, as the procedures are invasive, but not painful. Several polyps were removed. That was June 2010. Had I not relocated to Colorado, Dr. M would be THE ONLY gastroenterologist that I would ever entrust with these procedures. He was swift, yet thorough; I experienced no pain after-the-fact. If there were more than 5 stars to give him, I would do so. He is one of the best.
