Dr. Boustani is personable and communicates clearly. He gave a thorough neurological assessment of my 81 yr. old father who had previously been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I was skeptical going into this appointment that Mom had set up for Dad. What could he possibly offer? To my delighted amazement, Dr. Boustani turned to Mom after the assessment and clearly laid out the steps that Mom must take to care for herself if her goal is to keep Dad living healthy and happy at home as long as possible. He has assembled a team that will follow up with detailed support steps by phone about every 2 weeks. Mom was given their ph# and encouraged to call as questions/problems arise. Dr. B. set her free from guilt of not continuing Aricept or Namenda after both had negative side effects and no noticeable benefit. He told her that at this severe stage of dementia, those meds would not help. This was the best interaction we've had w/medical providers in years! I'm hopeful and thankful.
