This is an annual visit so the old favorites are visited first. No I'm not suffering from the condition I brought home from Europe last fall. All those medications are finished. What's new, she inquires and is filled in on the current family situation as it relates to potential health impacts. She reviews the depression screen. All of that done she moves onto the examination. Eyes, lungs heart, all of this is familiar territory too. I stick out my tongue (on request). So far so good. She looks in my ears and utters the dread word, wax. 'Would you like me to get it?' Of course I would. If you've ever had the problem of wax in your ears you know how painful the removal can be. Yes, I flexed a couple of times but then it was done. As my previous Doc dealt with the problem of wax, the patient stood between him and his objective. It was an ordeal. Anything else? I hadn't a stop watch out so I can't talk exact time, Dr. McGraw didn't rush me out or rush at all.
