Dr. Carrigg operated on my son when he was 7 years old. He had fluid build up and wasn't hearing much of anything. Unbeknownst to me, my child was lip reading for as long as two years prior. He had three airgun pellets deep in his ear. One of his little stupid friends I let spend the night probably dropped them in there while he was sleeping. He also needed eustation tubes put in and Dr. Carrigg performed the procedure (s). I've never been so frightened in my life. I'd never known anyone who needed an operation in my life until then. Handing him over to have this done was the hardest thing I've ever done. Plus while he was still in my arms, he was given a red medicine that put him in a "vegetative" state so they could more easily introduce his cathader. That scared the living $#/? out of me. Needless to say, my son is a happy healthy 29 year old man. Thank you, Dr. Carrigg, for all you did for my son during your tenure at Children's Hospital in Oakland!!!

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
