I highly recommend him. I couldn't ask for a better surgeon. He did an outstanding job on my hip replacement. My recovery was very quick from his work, and I have had zero problems since he did my total hip replacement over a year ago. I would agree that Dr. Mclaughlin isn't big on small talk. He simply knows what has to be done, and there's not much point in spending an hour discussing it. It was a bit disconcerting at first, but I trusted him, and that turned to be a very good decision. Eventually, I found him to be a very nice guy, and certainly caring. I've recommended him to several people, although I always explain that he's there to do a job, not to become your friend. I hope I don't need more joint work, but if I ever do, he is the one who will do it.
