Dr. Allen was a fresh breath of air for me after spending 7+ years on a host of meds for conditions I did not have, prescribed by another psychiatrist. He successfully weaned me off the medications and provided safe alternatives (beta blockers instead of xanax, etc.). He regularly spent 30 minutes with me and was interested in more than symptom management. He practiced with an abundance of caution and was incredibly conservative in his recommendations. The only downsides were in getting an appointment if I let my care lapse more than 3 months, that he regularly took phone calls from the hospital during our appointment (lasting ~1 minute) and never ran on time. It was a worthwhile trade-off for me until they stopped allowing me to schedule appointments.
