Dr. John's Background
Dr. Jerry John is an Ogden, Utah heart failure cardiologist and is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. Dr. John practices at Intermountain Healthcare's McKay-Dee Cardiology Clinic, located on the campus of McKay-Dee Hospital. He is also clinical director of the McKay-Dee Heart Failure clinic and director of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation.
Dr. John completed his medical degree at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, where he won honors in Integrated Clinical Correlations. He arrived at the University of Utah in 2001 for an internal medicine residency, followed by a fellowship in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. Dr. John traveled to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to complete a master’s degree, where he studied diastolic heart failure. He then completed a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio.
Dr. John has authored several publications, and his master’s thesis regarding exercise intolerance in patients with diastolic heart failure won first place from the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
