Patient Reviews
Sep 14, 2024
My incision was bleeding through the dressing the day after knee replacement surgery and when I called OAA to request help, they suggested that I go to the local ER. Since my copay is $300, I insisted that I be seen in the office. They made a same-day appointment with Dr. Kalawadia since my surgeon was in surgery, but I never met Dr. Kalawadia. Brian Kephart saw me rather quickly after I began bleeding in the waiting room and the nurse saw the blood running down leg. I cannot say enough great things about Brian who saw that the 'tag' stitch was not being held by the steri-strips. He pulled the stitch and the top of the wound immediately closed. He applied pressure until the bleeding stopped and put additional steri-strips to hold the incision closed. Although, I had to travel 45 minutes to get the office and the remedy was painful, I am pleased that this 'day after surgery' procedure did the trick, and I can now begin knee replacement therapy.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
