Tomorrow we will celebrate my son's 28th birthday. He's here with us, strong, smart and successful. One March morning in 1997 we brought Alex to Dr. Black barely breathing with a severe case of croup. It was her first day at NPCMC. She stabilized him and she had him airlifted to All Children's hospital in St. Petersburg where he recovered after a few days in the ICU. We all battled croup for several years. Words can't tell you how grateful for Dr. Black we are. I, Alex's mother, survived 5 very serious episodes of cancer. Dr. Black was there for all of us. Listen to her.
