Where to start…. I had a terrible oral abscess that had caused a mass in my cheek/jaw. I had to go to the ER because even though it was an emergency, trying to see a dentist had been impossible. I went to the ER for the second time and saw Dr. Ontell after the first visit did not help the state I was in. Let me tell you something about Dr. Ontell. Never before have I felt like an emergency room doctor cared as much as he did. He did everything he could for me to be seen by a maxillofacial surgeon as soon as possible. He even gave me instructions of what to ask for when I went in for surgery the next day. He made me feel cared for, comfortable, and even tried to give my mouth some relief by trying to pop part of the abscess. I’m grateful for his care and diligence because without him, I would still be in agonizing pain. I’m now on the mend after surgery and I truly believe if it weren’t for him, my infection would have spread.
