Patient Reviews
Feb 01, 2024
I was relieved to know that I would have a doctor who was a specialist. I knew that I was in good hands. He was very patient, knowledgeable, and kind. He knows his lungs. He removed the top half of my left lung. I could walk, talk and even limited driving- to the pharmacy- within the first week of being home after my surgery. I only had to take over the counter medications right after being discharged from City of Hope. I didn't care for the way his 'helper' was. She was aggressive in taking out the drainage tube and it hurt.. She wanted me to be released from the hospital before I was even eating, and she wrote a prescription for drugs upon being released that I didn't want. That spot still bothers me after 10 years! I asked for a different 'helper.' I will always be grateful that Dr. Kim was my doctor.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
