Dr. Wynes is more of a magician than a surgeon!!! I had already had full ankle fusion done on my left foot. Now, my right foot was turned outward on its side by like 45-degrees. I saw Dr. Levine in Frederick and he said he didn't do that kind of surgery. But if he were to have it done, there was only one surgeon he would see and it was Dr. Wynes. So off to Hunt Valley I went. Dr. Wynes said that the easiest thing to do would be to do full ankle fusion on my root foot, but he said if I had that done, I would walk funny with both ankles fused. So, he said that he was going to try and save my right ankle. On the morning of the surgery, Dr. Wynes came in and took a sharpie and drew on my foot and said we will make an incision here, then another line - and here, then another line - and here, ... All told, he planned on making 11 incisions to do something like 7 different procedures including re-routing a tendon from the inside of my foot to the outside of my foot. Now, it is four months post-op and I have a perfectly straight ankle that is functioning pretty normally. I can't thank him enough. Like I said - more of a magician than a surgeon.
