  • George Guthrie MD MPH is a board certified family medicine physician and a member of the family medicine team at AdventHealth s academic practice in Winter Park He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University in 1981 and completed his residency at Hinsdale Hospital near Chicago He holds certification from the Certification Board of Nutrition Specialists CBNS is a Certified Diabetic Educator CDE and has a special interest in lifestyle management for those with Type 2 diabetes hypertension obesity and coronary heart disease He also holds a Master of Public Health degree with a focus on nutrition from the School of Public Health and the School of Medicine at Loma Linda University where he was on the faculty Dr Guthrie has been involved in the development of several lifestyle programs including the Coronary Health Improvement Project CHIP the Wellspring Diabetes Program and the CREATION Health program at AdventHealth
