F/52. My body has been through a lot. I’ve had multiple surgeries, and finding a new doctor is a source of the anxiety for me because there is so much that has to be disclosed about past surgeries, my mental health and it can be a lot. The first thing I noticed walking in the door was that all office staff was friendly and professional. When I met Dr. Eddy, I was met with a professional and patient doctor, and that last word, can be hard to find in a doctor. Usually once I disclose to a doctor that I am bipolar I am made to feel like what I have to say doesn’t matter, and they no longer have the time to listen to what I have to say. This was not the case with Dr Eddy. I have a lot going on so you can imagine my surprise when he told me, “We’re going to take this slow so we don’t miss anything”. Now that is quality care! My concerns were not dismissed at all. I was nervous and talkative. But his demeanor calmed me, and I left knowing I was heard.
