Dr. Roberts provided anesthesia for my urology surgery yesterday. I had three issues that make me a less-than-simple candidate for general anesthesia. She listened to my explanations and responded to each with calm reassurance. As things turned out, she handled all of them perfectly. Dr. Roberts is warm, caring, and highly competent. In addition, I was very favorably impressed by her interactions with a high school student who was shadowing the team for a career class he's taking. He had expressed a special interest in anesthesiology, and in OR (in the brief time before I went to sleep) I overheard Dr. Roberts patiently explaining step by step what she was doing and the purpose of each step. She was kind to him as well as to me, her patient. If I need further surgery, I will request Dr. Roberts.
