Dr. Shemmeri successfully performed a sleeve resection to remove a tumor from my lung. I came to her for a “second opinion” after receiving my diagnosis. She further explained my diagnosis and options for treatment. She took the time to meet with me a few times to discuss the procedure and the risks, as well as answer all of my questions; which I had many. Through these conversations with Dr. Shemmeri, I was also able to develop trust in her and a level of comfort with the procedure so that I was prepared, confident, and ready on the day of surgery.Initially, I was told by a different surgeon that I needed a bilobectomy. Thank you, Dr. Shemmeri for saving my lung and giving me a better quality of life to spend with my young daughter and family! I am so grateful for you and the entire surgical and care team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital!
