Dr. Defreitas treated my wife on two separate occasions at UNCRex Lake Boone Trail. Both situations were life-threatening and he took the time to lay out the plan with me and my wife and executed that plan as the situations dictated. Dr. Defreitas is both a skilled surgeon and a compassionate physician. After having Dr. Defreitas on my wife's treatment team the first time she was in the hospital, when we were forced back into the hospital for different reasons, we requested him.
