December 2023 I visited with Dave for my preliminary Bariatric surgery exam and program consult. His excellent training, listening to my lived experiences and his intuition led to a vigorous physical examination of my liver. He ordered a CT that led to an MRI that resulted in a diagnosis of advanced liver fibrosis for me. I had normal blood panels my whole life being born with Hep B, so liver fibrosis was not detectable and is also incurable. Had Dave not orderd the tests, going into Bariatric surgery could have been life threatening for me, according to my new hepotologist. Dr. Dave Harris is a highly skilled doctor. My favorite part about meeting him was when he did, 'call me Dave.' I cannot thank him enough for being a most kind person who made me feel at ease when I met him and grateful to be in his most capable hands today. I truly believe he saved my life and will continue to help me live long once I can continue on with the Bariatric surgery program in the future.
